Amie Blu

Amie Blu is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter from South London, whose sadness and insecurities have spawned some of the UK’s most absorbing and achingly resonant homegrown songwriting in recent memory. The Fader noted back in 2025, “At a time when feelings of misery and hopelessness can often feel like they're being used a chic aesthetic, Blu's songwriting hits a chord with its blunt approach to documenting life's most uncomfortable feelings”. 

For Amie though, it’s more a natural form of catharsis. “I find so much clarity in writing songs”, she says. “I have so many questions answered through writing and also, I don’t know, having this song which perfectly describes how you feel is so validating…even though I'm the one who wrote the song.” 

Her lyricism has been resonating with a whole lot of people beyond herself over the last few years, too. Following two EPs — 2022’s 5 For U and later, 2024’s crumbs in my bed — she released her debut mixtape, how we lose, on 0207 Def Jam in late 2024, with each record garnering her critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, Wonderland, Clash Magazine, Apple Music and more. 

These early records built the ideal foundations for Amie to release her debut album, when all is said and done, in the autumn of 2025. A tender exploration of what she describes as “one of the worst years of my life”, when all is said and done was written alongside friends in the south of France, as opposed to with big-name songwriters in a marquee recording studio. And its humility was not lost in translation. 

Startlingly rendering depression and human connection, the album offered a stark insight into the mind of someone aware of all the amazing things in their life, but unable to stop feeling overwhelmed by the depths of their own sorrow. It’s a record drenched in feeling and delivered lyrics with diary-like candour, striking a powerful chord with fans, critics and peers alike. 

As she looks ahead to the latter half of 2026, Amie now counts the likes of SZA, Daniel Caesar, Kehlani, Fousheé, Faye Webster and Teezo Touchdown as fans, with Smino and Alemeda also in attendance at her recent sold-out show at The Echo in Los Angeles. 

With a host of new music on the horizon, as well as summer dates at Primavera In The City, The Twilight Concert Series in Salt Lake City alongside Freddie Gibbs and a slot supporting Faye Webster across the UK in August, Amie Blu is quietly becoming her own undeniable force.
